Hexagonal problems? We make hexagonal holes.

Balasden

Adelaide Software Consultancy

We build software for the situations off-the-shelf tools don't quite fit.

Start a conversation

Products of our own. Custom builds for the part no SaaS quite covers.

Deliberate software for odd-fitting workflows, operational gaps, and jobs worth building properly.

Companies we've worked with

Trusted by teams who need software built properly.

Who we are

Balasden is a two-person software consultancy based in Adelaide, run by Alasdair and Ben.

We build software for the workflows with an asterisk, the requirements that don't match a dropdown menu, and the problems that are almost-but-not-quite solved by something you can buy.

We make stuff we like, and we can also make stuff you like.

Our projects

Products we are building, and software we have built for others.

From Balasden products to commissioned systems, this is the work we are proud to put our name beside.

Membera

A membership management platform built for clubs and the people running them: structured signups, clear pricing, Stripe checkout, and digital membership cards. It replaces the spreadsheet-and-paper-form sprawl that most clubs still run on with something deliberate, fast, and built for the actual job.

Designed a bespoke system so that the Adelaide University Engineering Society could operate as efficiently as possible

Who we work with

Built for everyone else.

The teams we work best with are usually close to the problem, tired of workarounds, and not interested in paying enterprise overhead for a very specific need.

01

Small to mid-sized businesses

Bespoke software for operations that matter, without Big Four pricing attached to it.

02

Community organisations

Clubs and not-for-profits dealing with operational pain points that deserve better than paper forms and patched-together spreadsheets.

03

Startups

Technical execution for founders who need momentum before a full in-house hire makes sense.

04

Specific, small, or weird problems

The work that sits in the last 10% gap, where generic software almost helps and then gets in the way.
